9 AM – 5 PM (extended care available)
For the dates June 5-9 only, it is possible to sign up for one day at a time. The cost is $75 per day.

JUNE

Mon, June 5
Serra Bowl and then Frontier Playground in Pacifica, complete with towers, hanging bridges, water feature, balance beams, dozens of slides and swings. Send swimsuit and towel.
Tues, June 6
San Gregorio State Beach, includes a protected, driftwood-strewn estuary at the back of a wide, sandy beach - with grassy bluffs along the coast. The estuary is home to many birds and small animals. Send swimsuit and towel.
Wed, June 7
Zeum, Art and technology tools that empower the imagination to create a clay animation, make a music video, compose a soundtrack, or experiment with digital art.
Thurs, June 8
Belmont Iceland for ice-skating.
Fri, June 9
McNear's Beach along the shore of San Pablo Bay, Marin County's most popular park offers a swimming pool, tennis courts, a sandy beach, lawn areas, snack bar and a 500-foot long fishing pier. Send swimsuit and towel.

SESSION 1

Mon, June 12
Bowling at Serra Bowl, and then Frontier Playground in Pacifica, complete with towers, hanging bridges, water feature, balance beams, dozens of slides and swings. Send swimsuit and towel.
Tues, June 13
Indian Valley Open Space in Novato, where we hope to see hundreds of tadpoles and baby frogs, and enjoy nature activities in a hardwood forest.
Wed, June 15
Golden Gate Park to explore the gardens and lakes, climb the trees, play sports, engage in nature projects and create art inspired by nature. For two hours we’ll volunteer with master gardener, Andy Stone, helping to maintain the gardens around Stow Lake. Andy is great fun, and a terrific teacher.
Thurs, June 15
Asian Art Museum, where we'll explore the collection of art from India. We'll examine sculptures, ceramics, textiles, and paintings. The children will enjoy Indian myths and folktales related to works of art. We'll participate in "AsiaAlive" which is an interactive program featuring live artist demonstration, hands-on activities, and videos and books.
Fri, June 16
Lake Temascal, right on the Hayward Fault is a scenic gem where the Costanoan Indians once lived. Now there is a wonderful lake for swimming, a beautiful garden and a nature trail with tons of blackberries. Friday is "ice cream day." Send swimsuit and towel.

Adventure Playground in Berkeley- a unique playground that enables children to creatively use hammers, nails, saws, and paint to build playhouses and forts or to make smaller things to take home. Then we catch crabs on the pier and see what that other people on the pier have caught. Send children in sturdy clothes that can get very dirty. They must wear close-toed shoes (no sandals).

Cull Canyon Recreation Area in Castro Valley. The swim area is ideal with a shallow area and a white, sandy beach. Friday is "ice cream day." Send swimsuit and towel.

Jelly Belly Factory and the Western Train Museum. We'll get to see candy being made, and enjoy generous free samples. Then we'll ride on an historic interurban electric train over the restored main line of the old Sacramento Northern Railway.

Don Castro swim lagoon has clear blue waters with a large shallow area roped off especially for children and a white, sandy beach. We always end Friday with an ice cream party! Send swimsuit.

China Camp- along the shores of San Francisco Bay includes an extensive intertidal salt marsh, meadow and oak habitats. There is a shallow beach that's great for water play. Send swimsuit and towel.

Tues, July 11
Tour the Bay Model and then Kayaking with SeaTrek: we take a guided tour of this fantastic model to study the Bay. We learn the lingo and check out the gizmos. Subjects covered include tides, measurements, shipping, birds, fish, marine mammals, and the geography of the Bay. Then we kayak in a safe shallow lagoon. Send swimsuit and towel.

Tilden Park, we'll explore Jewel Lake, take a steam train ride and visit the Little Farm where there are lots of friendly animals we can feed. Send lettuce and celery!

SESSION 7

Mon, July 24
Fishermen’s Wharf, We’ll visit the historic Dolphin Club for a guided tour and depending on the weather and the groups’ consensus we might swim at Aquatic Beach, visit the pier to fish and catch crabs, tour the historic boats at the Hyde St. Pier, visit Ghiradelli for a free chocolate sample, check out the free entertainment and visit the sea lions at Pier 39. Kids can bring up to $5 for souvenirs.
Tues, July 25

Crissy Field: a phenomenal view of the Bay, an estuary for observing wild life and a shallow lagoon for safe water play. Then we'll catch crabs (and occasionally a starfish) from the pier. Send swimsuit.

Wed, July 26

Miniature Golf and a nature walk to observe the shore birds and other wildlife in the saltwater marsh at McInnis Park in San Rafael.
Tues, August 8

At The Legion of Honor Museum we view great European Art and create some artwork of our own. Then we take the glorious Land's End trail to Ft. Miley, a hidden San Francisco treasure.

Wed, August 9

Tour the historic Presidio Stables, meet the beautiful and well trained GGNRA Park Police horses and learn about the history of the cavalry including the African American "Buffalo Soldiers"

Samuel P. Taylor State Park features a unique contrast of coast redwoods groves and open grassland. We often see deer and evidence of raccoons, foxes and bobcats. The creek has lovely shallows to play in and observe creek creatures from crayfish to baby salmon. We'll walk to the picturesque 40 foot Stairstep Falls. Send swimsuit and towel.
